An elderly woman crashed her car into a downtown Edmonds frame shop this afternoon, injuring a woman inside.

The victim was taken to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle for treatment.

The 3 p.m. accident apparently happened as the driver was trying to park outside Petosa's Family Grocery, said Edmonds Fire Chief Tom Tomberg.

Edmonds Frame Design & Atelier abuts the Fifth Street grocery's parking lot, with several parking spaces nosing against the building.

The car crashed through the frame shop's wall, made of hollow concrete blocks, and came to rest entirely inside the store.

Tomberg said he didn't know if the injured woman was a customer or a store employee.
