Thursday, October 26, 2006 - Page updated at 02:09 PM Highway 2 in Snohomish County reopened after accidentTimes Snohomish County bureau An accident involving a dump truck and a pickup closed Highway 2 in both directions between Everett and Snohomish for three hours today. The highway was reopened around 1:15 this afternoon. A 51-year-old Snohomish man, Gregory Solberg, who had been driving the pickup, was transported to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle with life-threatening injuries, according to Washington State Patrol trooper Kirk Rudeen. The driver of the dump truck, a 42-year-old Woodinville man, was not injured. The accident occurred around 10:15 this morning, and State Patrol troopers detoured traffic around the scene. The dump truck was headed eastbound on Highway 2 when it struck the pickup, which was attempting to enter Highway 2 from Bickford Avenue. Copyright © 2006 The Seattle Times Company
