Incidents from law-enforcement agencies around the county

Everett

SUNDAY: Theft. A 13-year-old girl was cited for allegedly trying to shoplift $101 worth of costume jewelry from Mervyn's, 1402 S.E. Everett Mall Way. The girl was released to her father.

SUNDAY: Theft. A 19-year-old Everett man was booked into the Snohomish County Jail for allegedly trying to shoplift a $42 jacket from Sears at Everett Mall. He was also wanted on a warrant.

SUNDAY: Trespassing. On a check of the closed-down Topper Motel, 1030 Broadway, two transients were found in one of the rooms. Both were cited for trespassing, and one was booked into the county jail on a warrant for alleged possession of a controlled substance.

SATURDAY: Burglary. A neighbor of a 42-year-old Everett man living in the 9800 block of 10th Place West called police when she saw some teens trying to pull up her neighbor's garage door. When police arrived, they spoke to the Everett man through his daughter, who acted as an interpreter. The man reported he previously had found one of his windows open and $200 missing.

THURSDAY: Arson. A man reportedly set fire to an apartment building using gasoline, but residents of the building immediately discovered the blaze and called the Fire Department. The fire caused minimal damage. The suspect was found a day later and arrested.

Snohomish County

SUNDAY: Plane crash. A small airplane left the end of the runway while landing at Harvey Field, 9900 Airport Way, near Snohomish. The plane crossed a road and came to rest in a field east of the airport. The pilot, the only person aboard, suffered a head cut but did not have life-threatening injuries.

SUNDAY: False car-pedestrian accident report. Deputies and aid workers responded to a report of a car hitting a pedestrian near the Puget Park Drive-In, 13020 Meridian Ave. S., near Everett. When units arrived, the alleged victim admitted he had lied and just wanted a ride to a hospital.

SATURDAY: Driving under the influence of an intoxicant, and malicious mischief. On an arrest on suspicion of DUI, a passenger was waiting in a patrol car when she allegedly kicked out the rear window of the vehicle. She was booked into jail.

Stanwood

SATURDAY: Marijuana and illegal fireworks. A 19-year-old Camano Island man was cited for possession of marijuana, drug paraphernalia and illegal fireworks after a traffic stop in the 8800 block of 270th Street Northwest.

THURSDAY: Accident. A motorist fled after rear-ending another vehicle near Highway 532 and 88th Avenue Northwest. The driver was found and was cited for alleged hit and run, driving with a suspended license and operating a vehicle without insurance.
