What's on tap for strawberry festival


Biringer Farm will stage its annual PigOut on the Farm, part of the Marysville Strawberry Festival, June 19 and 20.

Here's a list of events for the Marysville Strawberry Festival, which starts Saturday and continues through June 20. All events are in Marysville unless otherwise indicated.

Saturday

11 a.m.: The Tulalip Tribes Parade will start in front of the new Tulalip Health Clinic, 7520 Totem Beach Road, and go to the Long House, 6700 Totem Beach Road, Tulalip Reservation.

1 p.m.: Tulalip Tribes Salmon Ceremony at the Long House, 6700 Totem Beach Road, Tulalip Reservation, with songs, drumming and a procession to the water. A free meal will be served at the tribal center.

Tuesday

Noon: fashion show at Leifer Manor, 12511 State Ave. Admission: $20 by reservation at the festival office, Red Caboose at Fourth Street and Cedar Avenue.

June 16

7 p.m.: Adult Trike Race time trials along Delta Avenue between Fifth and Eighth streets.

June 17

4 p.m.: A carnival will open on the grounds of Marysville Middle School, 4923 67th St. N.E., and operate daily through the remainder of the festival.

6 p.m.: talent show in the Cedarcrest Middle School auditorium, 6400 88th St. N.E. Admission: $5.

June 18

8 a.m.: golf tournament at Battle Creek Golf Course, 6006 Meridian Ave. N., Tulalip Reservation. Entry fee: $100.

3 p.m.: Market in the Park will offer arts, crafts and food at Asbery Field, Fourth Street and Alder Avenue.

4 p.m.: carnival at Marysville Middle School.

5:30 p.m.: The Fabulous Road Stars will play music at Asbery Field.

7 p.m.: Adult Trike Races on State Avenue between Fifth and Seventh streets; the Viceroys will perform at Asbery Field.

June 19

9 a.m.: invitational baseball tournament at Marysville-Pilchuck High School, 5611 108th St. N.E., and Cedarcrest Middle School, 6400 88th St. N.E.

10 a.m.-5 p.m.: PigOut on the Farm at Biringer Farm, off Highway 529 between Everett and Marysville, including shortcake, hay rides and pig-calling contests. Information: www.biringerfarm.com or 425-259-0255.

10 a.m.: Market in the Park and Great Northwest Bike Show (motorcycles), Asbery Field.

10 a.m.-2 p.m.: live KMPS-FM (94.1) broadcast from Asbery Field.

Noon : A-T (ataxia telangiectasia) Children's Project Family Walk at Jennings Park, 6915 Armar Road;

karaoke contest at Asbery Field; carnival at Marysville Middle School.

3:30 p.m.: Singer Alice Stuart will perform at Asbery Field.

5 p.m.: KBSG-FM (97.3) will present "Meet the Beetles" (Volkswagen cars named after the Fab Four) at Asbery Field.

5:30 p.m.: May Palmer and her All-Star Band will perform jazz and blues at Asbery Field; the 5-kilometer Berry Run will start outside Marysville Junior High School, 1605 Seventh St. N.E.

6 p.m.: Kiddie Parade along State Avenue from Seventh to Fourth streets.

8 p.m.: Grand Parade on State Avenue from 80th Street Northeast to Third Street; Black Jack airplane flyover.

10 p.m.: post-parade fireworks show, visible along State Avenue.

June 20

9 a.m.: invitational baseball tournament at Marysville-Pilchuck High School and Cedarcrest Middle School.

10 a.m.-5 p.m.: PigOut on the Farm at Biringer Farm, off Highway 529 between Everett and Marysville.

10 a.m.: Market in the Park, Asbery Field.
