7:30 p.m. Friday Aaron Cartwright leads an athletic Mariner team into a tough nonconference game against the Vikings and hot-shooting Matt Stevens. GIRLS BASKETBALL Bishop Blanchet at Meadowdale 5 p.m. Saturday Top-ranked Meadowdale gets its biggest test so far this season against ninth-ranked Bishop Blanchet.

Monroe, the ninth-ranked team in Class 4A, is scheduled to play an Alaska team at 10 a.m. Saturday at Eastlake High School in Sammamish. WRESTLING Tumwater Tournament All day Saturday Mariner is participating in this tournament near Olympia. The Marauders, led by first-year coach and wrestling legend Otto Olson, won their first four matches. Sierra Classic 10 a.m. Monday and Tuesday, Reno, Nev. The Snohomish Panthers need some out-of-conference seasoning. So they're going to Reno over the holiday break to get it.
