Ever hear of the pump-and-run defense?
All 20 competitors who had just weighed in for last weekend's Belgian bodybuilding championships quickly scattered when three doping officials showed up unannounced to do some drug tests, causing the event to be canceled.
Belgian bodybuilding took a hit last year when 22 of 29 posers' tests were declared positive — either for steroid use or for refusing to be tested — and, as doping official Hans Cooman told AP, "[This] didn't do its reputation any good."
The art of pitching
Graduating senior Courtney Baughman is not only a pitcher on the Hawaii softball team, she's an art major with a special love for charcoal.
Guess she just has a thing for painting the black.
Hut 2 if it's twins
Giants quarterback Eli Manning and his wife kicked off a five-year, $10 million fundraising effort for the Eli and Abby Manning Birthing Center last week with a donation of undisclosed amount.
The center, at St. Vincent's Hospital in Manhattan, will focus on natural childbirth, holistic care and the center-snap birthing method.
Seams difficult
What, you think it's easy designing Presidents Cup uniforms for golfers ranging in age from 23 to 48?
As U.S. captain Fred Couples told The Tennessean: "Anthony Kim wears his pants down by his ankles, and Kenny Perry wears them up to his chest."

Paging Erica Jong
Tony Kornheiser is quitting after three years in ESPN's "Monday Night Football" broadcast booth, citing a fear of flying.
What, they couldn't just retrofit John Madden's old bus into the Korn-Krib Kruiser?
Don't call the vet
Playing doctor ain't what it used to be on the Professional Bull Riding tour.
"There's an old joke about rodeo sports medicine being a bottle of aspirin and a six-pack of beer," Tandy Freeman, the circuit's lead doctor, told HBO. "And if that didn't work, you doubled up on the beer."
The write stuff
• Greg Cote of The Miami Herald, on Rachel Alexandra becoming the first filly since 1924 to win the Preakness: "Twelve desperate males chasing one favored female? Sounds about like any Saturday in any bar in America."
• Richard Oliver of the San Antonio Express-News, on the upcoming movie premiere of "(500) Days of Summer": "Coincidentally, that's also the new TV slogan for the NBA playoffs."
• Headline at TheOnion.com: "Packers hit back at Vikings by signing Fran Tarkenton."
• Rick Morrissey of the Chicago Tribune, on opportunistic Detroit in the NHL playoffs: "You can't make mistakes against the Red Wings. Once you do, only the IRS has more effective methods of making you pay."
Pulling a fast one
Usain Bolt broke an unusual world record — in the 150-meter dash — on Sunday when he blazed down a soggy street in Manchester, England, in 14.35 seconds.
Thus breaking the mark set just hours earlier by a fleeing Belgian bodybuilder.
