Watch the sketcher en español at KUNS-TV Noticiero Noroeste

You'll have to forgive me for starting the week with a little self-promotion. I just came back from taping an interview for Noticiero Noroeste, the daily newscast at KUNS-TV, the local Univision station. Rocío Luquero invited me to talk about my job at The Seattle Times for their segment "La Comunidad," where they feature people from the local Hispanic community.
After the interview was taped I was able to do a sketch of anchor Jaime Méndez and executive producer Rafael Henriquez. Méndez said he has a notebook just like mine, but only for writing. I'm always ready to encourage other people to draw so I told him he should start sketching in it too. He may give it a try. I also enjoyed talking to Henriquez, a passionate journalist and veteran TV producer who worked in Atlanta and Los Angeles before moving to Seattle a year and a half ago to lead the station's news coverage.
The Spanish broadcast airs every day at 6 p.m. and 11 p.m. Tune in tonight to watch the sketcher and practice a little bit of español.
