This yacht costs $3.2 million but dreaming is free

As promised on an earlier post, here's the sketch of the Carcharodon IV, a yacht fisher on sale for $3.2 million at the Seattle Boat Show this weekend. San Diego-based captain Eric Berkey gave me a tour of the yacht after posing briefly for the sketch.

I entered from the back and the first thing I did was to use the kitchen sink to fill up one of my waterbrushes. That came handy. The kitchen, like everthing else, was pristine. Next to it was the lounge, where I pictured myself and my wife having a margarita and contemplating the ocean views while our kids would chase each other up and down the boat.

Then Berkey led me down a steep staircase to the bottom level, with bunks for up to twelve people and a master bedroom. Nice. If I owned a boat like this one, I'd probably have that many friends who'd always want to visit.

And last, we went up to the navigation room on the top level, which makes the boat a three-story house if you think about it. Since the owner is selling the boat, I would hire Berkey to be my skipper. I know nothing about sailing or fishing but he sure does. "This is a serious fishing boat," he reminded me. It has and industrial icemaker to keep all the fish you catch. "Several hundred pounds." With all the luxurious furnishings I had forgotten about the yacht fishing capabilities.

As I step out of the Carcharodon IV, I think it may be wiser to start my boating life with something simpler. Like the Sealegs. After I get that waterfront property...
