Cooling off at Picnic Point beach
Posted by Gabriel Campanario

July 26, 3:12 p.m.
Sunday afternoon I spent some time at Picnic Point Park with my family. It has one of my favorite beaches along the Sound in Snohomish County. After you cross the overpass over the train tracks you arrive at an oasis-like shady area with grass and trees. The beach itself is really long, perfect for walks, and there's a great strip of soft sand ideal to lay down the towel and put up the umbrella. I sketched this view as my kids were making sand castles. See more sketches on my Seattle Sketcher flickr gallery.
It seems that the hot weather is going to last for a few days. What are you doing to stay cool? What area locations do you recommend to cool off?
