Midnight opening, hamster craze at Toys R Us
Posted by Amy Martinez
Toys R Us wants a jump start on Black Friday, so its stores will open at midnight, five hours earlier than in previous years.
The first 100 shoppers in line at each store will receive a ticket for the opportunity to purchase what's being billed as one of the season's hottest toys - the Zhu Zhu Pets Hamster. The $10 toys are out of stock on the retailer's Web site. But the company says thousands of additional Zhu Zhu Pets will become available in stores throughout Friday, with regular new arrivals through December.
Here's a rundown of some "door-busters" that Toys R Us promises from midnight until 1 p.m. on Black Friday, while supplies last:
- $50 gift card with the purchase of any iPod touch
- Buy 1, get 2 free on all Batman Dark Knight 6-inch action figures
- $200 off Furreal Friends S'mores Pony, from $299.99 to $99.99
- $80 off Little Tikes Jump 'n Slide Bouncer, from $229.99 to $149.99
For more info, go to the Toys R Us Web site.
