Jim Harbaugh wants answers

INDIANAPOLIS -- Jim Harbaugh already landed the top prospect in this year's draft.

It will take more than Andrew Luck's signature on a letter of intent to acquire the quarterback this time around, though, and Luck is going to be long gone by the time the 49ers pick later in the first round.

Besides, it sounds like Harbaugh is more interested in talking to the guys who didn't choose to go to Stanford at this scouting combine.

"Can't wait to find those guys," Harbaugh joked. "Find out why they didn't why they didn't come to Stanford. Confront 'em."

He kids, he kids. But seriously, Harbaugh said that one of the first thing he thinks about when looking at a prospect is whether or not he recruited the player.

He pursued Robert Griffin III, and said he still remembers the phone call from Griffin saying that he was going to choose the University of Houston over Stanford. Griffin didn't wind up at Houston, instead following Art Briles to Baylor once Briles got the Bears' head-coaching job.
