Tackle James Carpenter suffers knee injury at practice
Posted by Danny O'Neil
RENTON -- Tackle James Carpenter suffered an injury to his knee during practice Wednesday. He will be evaluated further, and undergo an magnetic-resonance image (MRI) test.
The team indicated results of that test won't be available until Thursday.
Carpenter was Seattle's first-round draft pick, and has started every game this season. The past eight have been at right tackle. He started the season-opener at left guard with Robert Gallery out.
An injury to Carpenter would be a huge blow to the Seahawks offensive line that had begun to show real progress, especially since it occurred just four days after right guard John Moffitt suffered a season-ending knee injury in the first quarter of Sunday's game against Baltimore.
Carpenter and Moffitt were the first two players Seattle chose in the draft last April, choosing Carpenter No. 25 overall out of Alabama and Moffitt in the third round from Wisconsin.
Seattle picked them to constitute the right side of the offensive line for the foreseeable future.
