No. 245: Seahawks -- Jameson Konz, WR Kent State

Posted by Danny O'Neil

Seattle used its final choice in the 2010 draft on Jameson Konz of Kent State, an incredible athlete who is 6 feet 3, 234.

He's an H-back/athlete/WR.

He is freakishly athletic, but has been prone to injury. He was granted a redshirt in 2008.

He is listed with 46-inch vertical leap and ran 40 yards in 4.4 seconds.

He is the roommate of Julian Edelman, a seventh-round pick by New England in 2007.

Konz initially played linebacker at Kent State for his first three seasons. He moved to tight end in 2008, suffered an ankle injury in the season-opener against Boston College and was red-shirted. He returned last season.

He said the Seahawks have indicated they plan for him to be a wide receiver.

Konz has been described as a fullback, a tight end and a wide receiver in draft analysis. Why? Because just where he fits depends on the team. He said in a conference call with Seattle reporters the Seahawks indicated he would play wide receiver.

As a senior at Kent State, he started 12 games, caught 21 passes for 298 yards. He scored two touchdowns.
