Confirmed: Seahawks, TE Chris Baker agree on a deal

The Seahawks have an agreement to sign Chris Baker, a tight end.
The deal was first reported by Adam Schefter of ESPN, who described it as a two-year deal worth a total of $4.75 million. More than half of that coming in the first year.
Baker, 30, has played eight years in the NFL, the first seven with the New York Jets and last season with the New England Patriots, who released him.
The Seahawks do not announce agreements, waiting instead until the contract is formally signed and made official, but the agreement between Seattle and Baker has been independently confirmed.
With John Carlson already in place, Seattle was not looking for a starting tight end, however, under new offensive coordinator Jeremy Bates, the expectation is the Seahawks will use more two-tight end sets next season. In 2008, when Bates was Denver's passing game coordinator, the Broncos featured Daniel Graham and Tony Scheffler -- both tight ends -- in the passing game.
