One proud Oregon Duck
Posted by Jose Romero
Seahawks offensive lineman Max Unger was wearing a sharp black suede and leather Oregon Ducks jacket in the locker room after practice, beaming with pride after last night's Civil War win for the Ducks over Oregon State that propelled the Ducks into the Rose Bowl.
Unger and former Duck and current Seahawk teammate Nick Reed watched the game together at a spot teeming with Huskies fans cheering for the Beavers.
"It was cool," Unger said. "A little bittersweet. I wish it could have happened when we were there, but it's unreal."
"I was just having flashbacks to us tearing up roses at Reser Stadium (in Corvallis) last year when OSU didn't get to go."
Unger didn't rub it in to former Beaver T.J. Houshmandzadeh, a Seahawks receiver. "I don't want to kick him when he's down," Unger said. "We stopped them from going to the Rose Bowl last year and then we beat them again this year."
Unger said watching his Ducks is nerve-wracking, "but we won so it's all good."
