Lofa Tatupu undergoes season-ending surgery
Posted by Danny O'Neil
Tatupu suffered the injury during Seattle's loss to Arizona on Oct. 18. There was a hope that the tear would not require surgery, however, that did not prove to be the case.
The surgery is season-ending. Patrick Kerney underwent the procedure in 2006 and returned to become the runner-up for the NFL's Defensive Player of the Year in 2007 with Seattle. Guard Rob Sims underwent the surgery last year.
Tatupu was in Alabama and was diagnosed by Dr. James Andrews on Thursday.
OUT: LB Lofa Tatupu (pectoral).
DID NOT PRACTICE: T Sean Locklear (ankle), S C.J. Wallace (hamstring).
FULL PRACTICE: G Rob Sims (ankle), QB Matt Hasselbeck (rib), DE Patrick Kerney (groin).
DID NOT PARTICIPATE: CB Allen Rossum (hamstring).
FULL PRACTICE: RB Marion Barber (thumb), S Gerald Sensabaugh (thumb) and LB DeMarcus Ware (foot).
