Kyle Williams to start at left tackle, Wrotto or Vallos at left guard

Posted by Danny O'Neil

Damion McIntosh is expected to be active for Sunday's game, however it will be Kyle Williams who starts at left tackle. At left guard, it will be either Mansfield Wrotto -- who started last week's game -- or Steve Vallos, who finished last week's game. Vallos is Seattle's back-up center and he started in the games Chris Spencer missed because of a quadriceps injury. What are the attributes he brings at left guard.

"Having a center background, he is an excellent communicator," Mora said. "That's something you ask centers to do is communicate. With Kyle being new at left tackle, that helps him a little bit. They're really good friends so they talk a lot anyway, and then to have Steve's expertise in terms of calling protections, the things that he learned being a center, that's an added bonus for that position at left guard."

Cornerback Ken Lucas is expected to return Saturday after attending his father's funeral Friday in Mississippi, however, Mora said there's been no decision if Lucas will start at right cornerback. Kelly Jennings and Josh Wilson have practiced as the first-unit cornerbacks in Lucas' absence.

  • Defensive end Patrick Kerney is expected to be ready to play and remains the first-string defensive end.

  • Game balls for last week's victory were awarded to Matt Hasselbeck (offense), Darryl Tapp (defense) and Ben Obomanu (special teams).
