Hassel-back to practice Wednesday
Posted by Danny O'Neil
"No promises," coach Jim Mora said.
But the expectation is quarterback Matt Hasselbeck will practice Wednesday for the first time since suffering a fractured rib in Seattle's loss at San Francisco Sept. 20.
"We'll see where he is Wednesday," Mora said. "Hopefully he can go out there and do some things, and I think if he can do some things that will give him a little bit more confidence and then he can do a little more Thursday, a little more Friday and hopefully be ready to go Sunday, but we just have to wait and see."
In other injury updates, left guard Rob Sims is expected to miss at least a couple of games because of an ankle injury, defensive end Patrick Kerney is doubtful to play this week because of an injury to his groin muscle. There is no update on the status of left tackle Walter Jones, Mora said.
The Seahawks waived tackle Kyle Williams and re-signed fullback Justin Griffith, Mora said Monday. It is not clear what the team plans to do about its depth at tackle, but the uncertainty of Jones' status and the injury to Sims leaves Seattle with a need at that position with Ray Willis and Brandon Frye the only healthy tackles on the roster right now. Sean Locklear still is not expected back before Nov. 1.
Cornerback Josh Wilson is expected to be at full strength this week after missing two games because of an injured ankle.
