Jim Mora's Monday press conference to begin at 2:15 p.m.

Posted by Danny O'Neil

Coach Jim Mora will hold his Monday press conference this afternoon. You can follow any news updates on the Twitter at twitter.com/dannyoneil.

There has been some discussion of other games in which Seattle has been uncompetitive, and I just realized that it has typically occurred on the first weekend of October.

  • 2006: The Seahawks were 3-0 and headed to Chicago for a Sunday night game against the Bears. The result? A 37-6 loss.

  • 2007: Seattle was 3-1 after winning at San Francisco on Sept. 30 and played at Pittsburgh the next week. The result? A 21-0 shutout loss to the Steelers.

  • 2008: Seattle was 1-2 and coming off a bye when it headed to New York to play the Giants, and wound up taking a 44-6 defeat right between the eyes.

  • 2009: Seattle was 1-2 and allowed four touchdown drives of more than 75 yards on the Colts first five possessions and lost 34-17.

Seattle has not won a game on the first weekend of October since 2001, and the Seahawks have been outscored 136-29 on the first weekend of October in the previous four seasons.
