A roster breakdown

Final exhibition game is the final chance for some Seahawks
By Danny O'Neil, The Seattle Times

Seattle's got two days before it must make 53 decisions concerning the regular-season roster.

Offense locks

Teel or RoweJ.Forsett D.BranchS.VallosC.SpencerNewton or Morrah
   D.ButlerM.UngerK.Williams
    W.Jones

That's 24 spots right there. There are two positions that are either-or. It's light on receivers. Seattle has generally kept six receivers on the 53-man roster.

Defense locks

That's 25 more players who are locks. The obvious omission is at cornerback where Marcus Trufant might begin the season on the physically unable to perform list. If he does, it's possible Kevin Hobbs will begin the season on the active roster.

So that leaves three openings on the 53-man roster. One -- perhaps two -- will go to a wide receiver. The other considerations will be defensive line (Michael Bennett or Nick Reed) and then the possibility of a fourth corner.

So with those final three spots, these seem to be the most likely candidates: WR Jordan Kent, WR Courtney Taylor, WR Ben Obomanu, DE/DT Michael Bennett, DE Nick Reed, CB Kevin Hobbs.

Who do you want to see round out the roster?

Update: DE Baraka Atkins was omitted from the list of considerations. He certainly is. Apologies for the oversight.
