Marcus Trufant considered unlikely to practice this week

Seattle has one more decision to make on the roster before Tuesday's deadline of having the roster at 75 players. The bigger decision will be Saturday when the Seahawks trim the roster to 53 players.

Will cornerback Marcus Trufant be on the 53-man roster? That remains to be seen. Trufant is on the physically unable to perform (PUP) list, and has not practiced. He therefore is eligible to be played on the regular-season PUP list. He would not count against the 53-man roster, but he also would not be able to play until the seventh game of the season.

Coach Jim Mora said he has not been given an update whether Trufant will practice this week, but said it was unlikely.

  • T.J. Houshmandzadeh sat out practice Monday with general soreness, according to Mora, nothing serious. Others missing practice: Trufant (PUP, back), QB Seneca Wallace (groin), WR Logan Payne (undisclosed), CB Travis Fisher (hamstring), S C.J. Wallace (ribs), C Chris Spencer (quadriceps), LT Walter Jones (knee).

  • Player of the day? Kelly Jennings. He picked off two passes in seven-on-seven drills that concluded practice. Jennings has been a bright spot of this training camp as he showed with his performance in Saturday's game in Kansas City. So much has been made of his size, that people forget he's got the speed of a top-shelf cornerback and if he starts closing on plays the way he did in practice Monday, he's going to be a factor.
