Camp Mora: Day 4, "The Evening Edition"

Posted by Danny O'Neil

Two new absences in the evening. WR Billy McMuffin McMullen sat out practice because of a sore knee while FB Owen Schmitt missed practice because of a strained calf.

That brings the current list of injured absentees to: McMullen, Schmitt, DT Brandon Mebane (knee), LT Walter Jones (back) and CB Marcus Trufant (back, PUP list).

Fans were so excited after the evening practice they took the shirt right off of WR Nate Burleson's back. Well, actually Burleson gave the shirt to one kid who asked for it, and then conducted an video interview for the team's Web site shirtless. DE Patrick Kerney left the field without his jersey, too, but left on a partially torn undershirt.

"At least I've got my Man-ziere," he said, a reference to a "Seinfeld" episode. "Or maybe it's the Bro."

Either way, he was at least a little covered up.

PERSONNEL NOTES

  • LB Lofa Tatupu excelled in pass-rush drills in the evening practice, getting by both the Seahawks' biggest tailback -- T.J. Duckett -- and one of its smallest -- treating Justin Forsett like a traffic cone and running right around him.

  • Seattle broke out more tricks after this morning's reverse option pass from T.J. Houshmandzadeh. The Seahawks ran a flea-flicker, Julius Jones taking the handoff and then lateralling the ball back to Matt Hasselbeck. But CB Ken Lucas stayed with his assignment the whole way and very nearly picked off Hasselbeck's pass, intended for rookie Deon Butler. Instead the pass fell incomplete.
