Marcus Trufant on PUP (physically unable to perform)
Posted by Danny O'Neil
Cornerback Marcus Trufant was placed on the physically unable to perform list on Friday because of a sore back. Coach Jim Mora said he did not believe it was serious and that they didn't feel the need to push him into action being a veteran.
Trufant can be activated at any time during training camp once he passes his physical. Being on the PUP list will not affect his status unless he remains on that list after the final cut-downs.
In other news, OL Cory Withrow and Grey Ruegamer signed with the team and practiced Friday. DE Baraka Atkins was excused from practice to attend a funeral in Florida. DE Lawrence Jackson sat out a portion of practice after appearing to injure his left foot, but he returned to the workout. In fact, he returned with enough spunk to get in a little scrap with tackle Ray Willis.
