Expectations for Max Unger

Posted by Danny O'Neil

Max Unger is simply too good not to play his way into the starting lineup, according to this report from Pro Football Weekly.

The consensus among our Seahawks sources is that second-round OL Max Unger's talent is simply too good to not be a starter this season. That said, just where the versatile Unger figures in the starting mix -- left guard, right guard or perhaps center, his primary position at Oregon -- remains unclear heading into training camp.
   -- Pro Football Weekly

Unger played primarily left guard during the offseason minicamps. He was with the second-team unit behind Mansfield Wrotto. Mike Wahle started at left guard last season until a shoulder injury shelved him. He did not participate in offseason minicamps as he rehabbed from the injury.

Unger did play some center at the last minicamp, but it was with the third-unit line and his time at that spot was very limited.

One of Sims, Wahle, Spencer will go down or not perform in training camp. What a great pick to have someone with versatility come in highly touted...  Posted on July 10, 2009 at 9:04 AM by ghostdawg. Jump to comment
I like the sound of THAT. Always good when new guys are so talented that they must be started.  Posted on July 10, 2009 at 9:05 AM by Willie G. Jump to comment
This off-season trads and the draft has gotton me excited for the season. Defensively they should be much improved.  Posted on July 10, 2009 at 1:11 PM by Colin the Coug. Jump to comment
