Game of the Day

New England at Pittsburgh, 1:15 p.m.

This rivalry heated up last season, when the Steelers ended the Patriots' NFL-record 18-game winning streak at Heinz Field in October and the Patriots paid the Steelers back by beating them in the AFC title game. The Patriots, who have won 33 of the past 36 games (including playoffs), are coming off a 27-17 loss to Carolina. They will try to stop the Steelers' march toward their NFL-record regular-season winning streak. The Steelers have won 16 straight regular-season games, 15 with Ben Roethlisberger as the starting QB. Roethlisberger is the NFL's top-rated passer, and RB Willie Parker leads the AFC with 272 rushing yards.

Three & out

Three teams off to surprising 0-2 starts

Green Bay Packers: The Packers figured to have an uphill battle to make the playoffs, but losing to the Detroit Lions and at home to the Cleveland Browns to open the season is a bad omen indeed. To top it off, they lost No. 1 receiver Javon Walker for the season in the first game. It all has even ultra-competitive QB Brett Favre down in the dumps. "At 0-2 and a lot of question marks, it's uncharted territory," he told local reporters. "There's no way I can sit up here and talk Super Bowl or even talk playoffs right now. We have to talk about winning a game first."

Minnesota Vikings: Favored to win the NFC North, the Vikings have come out extremely flat. QB Daunte Culpepper has not thrown a TD pass and has had eight throws intercepted. And the Vikings' revamped defense has been hindered by injuries. But the North is the weakest division in the NFL, and the Vikings have time to turn it around.

San Diego Chargers: Both of their losses were decided in the final 30 seconds. The Chargers have yet to get LaDainian Tomlinson involved in the passing game because the offensive line has needed help to protect Drew Brees. According to Elias Sports Bureau, since 1990, just 17 of 121 teams (14 percent) to start 0-2 have made the playoffs.
