Seahawks two-minute drill

Player of the game

Ryan Grant, Packers running back, nearly became the second player to rush for more than 100 yards against Seattle this season. He finished with 97 yards on the ground, and his 56-yard touchdown run in the second quarter was the third-longest run against Seattle this season.

Play of the game

Seattle ball, third-and-one at the Green Bay 36 just six minutes into the game. The Seahawks had converted two consecutive third-and-short plays by handing off to Julius Jones. They'd rushed the ball seven of their first eight plays on the most promising game-opening possession in more than a month. So what do the Seahawks do? Call a play-action pass to tight end John Carlson, only to have the ball flutter out of quarterback Matt Hasselbeck's hand to a wide-open A.J. Hawk of the Packers. The linebacker returned the ball 29 yards, and Green Bay scored its first touchdown four plays later.

Injuries

Cornerback Josh Wilson suffered a hip pointer and did not return. Wide receiver Mike Hass suffered a dislocated left shoulder. Running back Julius Jones tweaked his ankle early in the game and later reinjured his ribs.

Quotable

Seattle tight end John Carlson: "This one stings. We really let it get out of hand. It's never fun to lose. It's never acceptable, and again it's disappointing because ... we moved the ball in the first quarter and did some good things, but didn't even come close to playing a complete game."

Simply offensive

The good news? The Hawks scored a second-half touchdown for the first time in three weeks. The bad news? It was the only touchdown they scored. Seattle has totaled 24 points in the past three games — losses to the Texans, Buccaneers and Packers — the team's lowest point total in any three-game span since 1992.

By the numbers

48 points, the most allowed by Seattle in any game since Nov. 27, 1983, when the Seahawks beat the Chiefs 51-48 in overtime.
