Seahawks two-minute drill

Player of the game, play of the game, injury report and notes

Player of the game

Frank Gore rushed for 207 yards, two touchdowns and surprised many — including the Seahawks defense — with his seldom-seen breakaway speed. His 79-yard run in the first quarter gave the 49ers a 10-0 lead, and on the first play of the third quarter, he went 80 yards and put the game to bed.

Play of the game

Just before halftime, Matt Hasselbeck dove for the end zone, took a hard hit from 49ers linebacker Patrick Willis and writhed in pain afterward. He left the game with a rib injury, the pain so bad that his knees buckled as he tried to walk off the field. Now, the Seahawks must cope with the uncertain availability of their most essential player.

Injuries

Middle linebacker Lofa Tatupu left after the first defensive series, still bothered by a hamstring problem. Left tackle Sean Locklear hurt his right ankle in the second quarter and didn't return. Cornerback Josh Wilson missed most of the second half with an ankle issue. And Hasselbeck didn't return after halftime because of what the Seahawks preliminarily are calling bruised ribs.

By the numbers

256 Rushing yards by San Francisco, with an average of 8.8 per carry.

80 Frank Gore's third-quarter touchdown run, the longest Seahawks have allowed since Chester Taylor's 95-yarder on Oct. 22, 2006.

10 Projected Seahawks starters who didn't play or played very little on Sunday.

He said what?

"Well, when you lose, you bring your F-game. So we brought our F-game," — safety Deon Grant, succinctly describing the Seahawks' poor performance

Gore-d again

Three of Frank Gore's top-five rushing games have now come against the Seahawks:

212 yards

vs. Seattle, Nov. 19, 2006

207 yards

vs. Seattle, Sunday

159 yards

at Detroit, Nov. 12, 2006

153 yards

at Denver, Dec. 31, 2006

144 yards

at Seattle, Dec. 14, 2006

No takeaways

The Seahawks defense has yet to force a turnover in two games. The only Seattle takeaway thus far came on special teams, on a fumble on the first play of the season opener against the St. Louis Rams last week.
