Seahawks two-minute drill
Player of the game John Carlson caught six passes for 95 yards.
Player of the game
John Carlson caught six passes for 95 yards. His 38-yard reception in the third quarter was the Seahawks longest pass play from scrimmage, and he followed that with a 33-yard touchdown catch on the very next play to cap a 99-yard touchdown drive that put the game away.
Play of the game
Matt Hasselbeck lined up at wide receiver in the first quarter, the first time he's done that since Pop Warner. He still wound up throwing a pass when Seattle put some extra sprinkles on its play selection and got tricky. Backup quarterback Seneca Wallace lined in a shotgun formation, threw a backward pass to Hasselbeck who then threw the ball back to Wallace for a 24-yard gain. "We might have to tell the crowd to not get so loud when Seneca comes into the game," Hasselbeck said. "That kind of gives it away."
Injuries
Outside linebacker Leroy Hill left the game in the first quarter because of a groin injury. Middle linebacker Lofa Tatupu left in the second half after his hamstring tightened up. Neither returned, but their injuries aren't considered serious. Seattle coach Jim Mora said Tatupu's removal was more precautionary.
He said what?
"My reputation perceives itself," said Rams guard Richie Incognito, who had two personal-foul penalties in the game. "I really just lost my cool he said," of the 15-yard penalties. "I lost my head and retaliated."
Century club
Julius Jones rushed for 117 yards, the third time he's reached the century mark since joining Seattle in 2008. Two of those games have been against the Rams. He gained 140 yards against St. Louis in Week 3 last season.
Going the distance
Jones' 62-yard touchdown in the third quarter was Seattle's longest run from scrimmage since Nov. 6, 2005 when Shaun Alexander scored on an 88-yard touchdown run in Arizona.

Branch inactive
Deion Branch was inactive for Sunday's game. He missed practice this week because of a sore hamstring.
Fresh faces
Aaron Curry will never forget his first NFL game.
"That's something I can tell my kids," said the Seahawks first-round draft pick. "My first game as a NFL rookie, our defense shut out an NFL offense. How often is that done?"
Curry helped make Seattle's 28-0 victory against St. Louis memorable, finishing with four tackles. He was one of 14 players who made their Seahawks debut. Six first-year Seahawks started, including receiver T.J. Houshmandzadeh.
"The crowd was actually louder than I thought it would be," said Houshmandzadeh, the former Cincinnati Bengal who had six catches for 48 yards in his first Seahawks game. "When you get here for the preseason, it's loud. But it's good now to be on the home sidelines because when you have the ball you don't have to really zone in to the quarterback to hear what's going on.
"And the crowd, you don't have to get them going, they get themselves going."
Plenty of penalties
The St. Louis Rams were penalized 10 times, including four false start infractions by four different offensive linemen. Quarterback Marc Bulger was also assessed a delay of game penalty.
Defensive tackle Colin Cole, who spent the previous five seasons with the Green Bay Packers, said the noise generated by the sold-out Qwest Field crowd of 67,610 played havoc with the Rams.
"The false starts get in their heads and they start to doubt themselves and that really helps us feed off their energy," he said. "That energy, that emotional wave, is magnificent and there is nothing better than that right there. That is probably the best feeling I have had on a football field in a long time."
The hostile environment seemingly goaded St. Louis guard Richie Incognito who collected two 15-yard penalties for unnecessary roughness.
"They got 61-66,000 people out there screaming and I really just lost my cool," he said. "I lost my head and retaliated on what was a chippy play."
