5 questions with ...

Brandon Coutu

K, 5-11, 190, Age: 24

Coutu is a perfect 11 of 11 on his field-goal attempts in exhibition games. He hasn't missed a regular-season attempt, either. Then again, he hasn't attempted one. The seventh-round pick spent all last year on the 53-man roster but inactive for the games as Olindo Mare handled kicking duties:

Seattle Times: You didn't play a game your rookie season; how would you characterize the year here?

Coutu: I was happy to be here, happy I was employed because there's a lot of guys that probably wish they were in my shoes. At the same time, I understood what was expected of me and was trying to get ready for this year.

ST: What's the last movie you saw?

Coutu: We watched "I Love You Man" on the flight to San Diego.

ST: What CD do you own that would be the biggest surprise to people?

Coutu: I listen to everything. For the most part, just about every CD I have in my car right now is country.

ST: Who was on the first poster you hung on your wall?

Coutu: Man, that was a while ago. It was the '90s, though. Had to be Michael Jordan.

ST: What's the worst job you've ever had?

Coutu: Most of my jobs have been made up. I worked with a buddy of mine when I was 16; his dad worked for a trucking company. I'm not even sure what our job title was or if we had one, but we spent a lot of time just trying to find something to do and I think we were making $10 an hour, so it wasn't too bad.

Welcome back

Linebacker Aaron Curry returned to practice Tuesday after suffering a slight groin strain one week ago. Fullback Dan Curran welcomed him back with a wallop of a hit during a full-team portion of practice.

Brief return

Offensive lineman Grey Ruegamer's return to the practice field was brief. He practiced Tuesday for the first time in more than two weeks after recovering from an elbow injury. He was released after practice. The Seahawks claimed Brian De La Puente off waivers from Kansas City.

Roll call

CB Travis Fisher and LB David Hawthorne did not practice because of unspecified injuries. DT Craig Terrill sat out the final portion of practice because of a back contusion he suffered during Saturday's exhibition game against Denver.

Hair-razing

There's a streak of unity running through Seattle's offensive linemen since most shaved the sides of their hair and left a subtle mohawk on top. The one exception: Mansfield Wrotto, who is shaved bald.
