Seahawks release long snapper Bryan Pittman
Ex-Washington Huskies player injured finger.

Bryan Pittman's move back home to the Puget Sound ended up putting his stay with the Seahawks in jeopardy.
Pittman, a long snapper, suffered an injury to his finger while moving his belongings, which resulted in his release by Seattle. The move has not been announced by the Seahawks, but Pittman's agent confirmed his client was let go because of the non-football injury.
Pittman, 32, was the only long snapper on Seattle's roster at the time, the Seahawks having previously cut Ryan Senser. The feeling has returned to Pittman's finger, agent Kevin Gold said, but he's still about two weeks away from being ready to play. Seattle couldn't start training camp Friday without a long snapper, so the Seahawks signed Kevin Houser — a veteran previously with New Orleans. Seattle added Houser last week and then released Pittman.
Pittman will be staying in the Seattle area, though. He's a graduate of Jefferson High School in Federal Way and later played at Washington.
The door isn't closed on a potential return to Seattle's roster once Pittman is healed, but Houser will have first crack at the snapping job.
