Seahawks sign rookies Mike Teel, Nick Reed
Team has signed three of its seven draft picks.
Seattle Times staff reporter
Seattle signed two draft picks on Wednesday, reaching agreements with quarterback Mike Teel and defensive end Nick Reed.
Seattle chose Teel from Rutgers in the sixth round and picked Reed from Oregon in the seventh. Seattle has three of its seven draft picks under contract. Safety Courtney Greene, a seventh-round choice, signed a contract Monday. Seattle had three seventh-round draft picks as compensation for free agents it lost in 2008.
Terms of Teel's deal were not disclosed other than it being a multiyear deal. Reed agreed to a four-year contract that included a signing bonus of about $42,000.
All of Seattle's draft picks are expected to participate in the three-day minicamp that begins today at the team's headquarters in Renton.
Note
• NFL commissioner Roger Goodell will join Seahawks coach Jim Mora and CEO Tod Leiweke when they climb Mount Rainier on July 5, an expedition that will raise money for the United Way. The group will be led by Ed Viesturs.
