Players of the Game
Dallas QB Tony Romo: Romo passed for 331 yards — 210 of those in the first half — and threw for three touchdowns.
Dallas LB DeMarcus Ware: Ware sacked Matt Hasselbeck three times, including two first-half sacks when he beat Seahawks left tackle Walter Jones.
Seattle K Olindo Mare: Mare, who could be this season's Seahawks MVP, made all three of his field-goal attempts and scored all of Seattle's points.
Dallas TE Jason Witten: Witten caught nine passes for 115 yards and a touchdown.
Play of the Game
Seattle had first down at the Dallas 35 on its first possession. Julius Jones ran up the middle, then tried to bounce toward the outside. He loosened up on the football, though, and Dallas defensive lineman Marcus Spears stripped it and Anthony Henry recovered it. By the time Seattle got the ball back for its second possession, it trailed 14-0.
Turning Point
The coin toss. Dallas won it, and Seattle lost control of the game. The Cowboys received the kickoff, returned it to the Dallas 29, then drove 71 yards on five plays in 2 minutes, 24 seconds. The Cowboys never looked back, scoring on each of their first four possessions.
Sunday's Seahawks Surprises
• Left tackle Walter Jones gave up two sacks to Ware in the first half. Jones didn't even make contact with Ware the second one, entirely faked out as Ware feinted toward the inside, then sprinted around the edge.
• Running back Julius Jones lost his second fumble in three games. He lost three fumbles his previous three seasons combined.
![]()
• Cornerback Marcus Trufant intercepted a pass in the third quarter, just Seattle's sixth interception this season.
By the Numbers
17 first downs Dallas gained in the first half on just 33 plays.
14 points scored by Dallas in the first quarter, matching the most Seattle has allowed in an opening period this season.
11 rushes by Seattle in the first half. Just two of those 11 rushes gained more than 3 yards.
9 consecutive completions for Romo during one first-half stretch for 144 yards and a touchdown.
7 sacks by Dallas, the most allowed by Seattle in any game this year.
0 sacks by Seattle, the first time this season the Seahawks failed to register a sack.
Injury Report
Seahawks: LB Leroy Hill suffered a shoulder injury in the first quarter. He did not return.
Cowboys: RB Marion Barber bruised his right foot in the first half, returned briefly in the third quarter, then left the game. Ware suffered a left knee sprain in the third quarter and did not return.
