Seahawks' Patrick Kerney placed on IR

Seahawks sack leader Patrick Kerney will miss the best of the season because of shoulder injury.

Seattle Times staff reporter

RENTON — The Seahawks placed defensive end Patrick Kerney on injured reserve today, ending the season of the player who led the team with five sacks.

Kerney missed the past three games because of a shoulder injury, which required arthroscopic surgery.

The Seahawks claimed Brandon Miller, a defensive end who was waived today by Atlanta.
