NFL Notebook | Brett Favre rumors rile Charles Woodson

GREEN BAY, Wis. — Cornerback Charles Woodson says that if a media report indicating that Brett Favre shared inside knowledge of the Green Bay Packers' offense with Detroit Lions coaches is true, it's nothing short of sabotage.

Has one of the most beloved players in Packers history become Benedict Brett?

"He contacted them? I don't respect that," Woodson said after the Packers' victory over Indianapolis on Sunday. "If they call him and he gives them information, that's one thing. But to seek a team out and to feel like you're trying to sabotage this team, I don't respect that. I know he's been the greatest player around here for a long time, but there's no honor in that."

Favre denied the report.

Notes

• Kansas City Chiefs president Carl Peterson said the team is aware of an investigation into running back Larry Johnson's alleged involvement in an altercation with a woman during the team's bye week. Johnson already faces a December court date on a charge of simple assault involving an incident with a woman in February.

• Three helium balloons almost derailed an NFL game, and knocked out a television feed for nearly three quarters. That was the cause of a power outage that affected the Buffalo Bills' 23-14 win over San Diego. The teams played about 45 minutes without power inside Ralph Wilson Stadium during the first half, and the electricity went out again for another 19 minutes before it was finally restored for good throughout the facility midway through the third quarter.

• Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said after Sunday's loss to the St. Louis Rams that coach Wade Phillips' job is not in danger. "No, it is not," Jones said after Dallas' 34-14 loss. "Emphatically, no." The Cowboys (4-3) lost for the third time in four games after a week of turmoil, with cornerback Adam "Pacman" Jones suspended and quarterback Tony Romo (broken pinkie) deciding he wasn't ready to play after going through pregame warmups.

• Cleveland tight end Kellen Winslow confirmed a staph infection caused his recent hospitalization and criticized the team for treating him "like a piece of meat."

Jeremy Shockey was hurting, frustrated and angry after a miserable return to the New Orleans Saints after hernia surgery. Shockey questioned how the team has handled his injury and was unsure if he'll play next week in London against San Diego.
