NFL | Eagles' RB Brian Westbrook out for 49ers

PHILADELPHIA — All-Pro running back Brian Westbrook will miss his second game in three weeks when the Philadelphia Eagles visit San Francisco on Sunday.
Westbrook broke two ribs in the Eagles' 23-17 loss to Washington last Sunday, though he kept playing and finished the game. He sat out a 24-20 loss at Chicago on Sept. 28 because of an ankle injury.
Two-time Pro Bowl guard Shawn Andrews (back) and wide receiver Reggie Brown (groin) also won't play.
"Brian wants to go. He's in the mind-set that he wants to play, but it's a decision that I've got to make," coach Andy Reid said Friday.
Westbrook leads the Eagles (2-3) with 194 yards rushing and has six touchdowns.
A fine mess
Arizona Cardinals strong safety Adrian Wilson has been fined $25,000 by the NFL for a hit on Buffalo quarterback Trent Edwards last Sunday.
Wilson said Friday that league officials also put him on notice he may face heavier fines or a suspension for future incidents.
Wilson hit Edwards on the third play of last week's game. The hit was not helmet-to-helmet, but Edwards suffered a concussion and did not return. No penalty was called.
League officials decided that Wilson unnecessarily drove Edwards to the ground.
"We'll appeal it and see where it goes," Wilson said. "But it's kind of hard to appeal something when you have 15 personal fouls in your career, numerous fines for hits like that and kind of a reputation."
Ronnie Brown and two Miami Dolphins teammates were fined $10,000 each by the NFL for excessive celebrating. After Brown scored a touchdown Sunday against San Diego, he performed a dance shuffle in the end zone with offensive linemen Vernon Carey and Ikechuku Ndukwe.

And Minnesota's Antoine Winfield got tagged for $10,000 for his celebration of a touchdown on Monday night against the Saints. Winfield returned a blocked field goal for a score, then jumped onto the goal post and slid down it like a fire pole.
Minnesota linebacker Chad Greenway was fined $7,500 for his facemask pull of the Saints' Reggie Bush, and receiver Robert Ferguson was fined $5,000 for a late hit on a punt return in the third quarter.
Notes
• The NFL's review of Adam "Pacman" Jones' scuffle with his bodyguard won't be finished until next week. The Cowboys had said they won't discipline Jones, so the cornerback will play Sunday at Arizona. It is unclear if the league will take any punitive action against Jones.
The Cowboys said late Friday that cornerback Terence Newman will miss at least another month after having surgery earlier in the day to repair a sports hernia. Safeties Roy Williams (forearm) and Patrick Watkins (neck) and guard Kyle Kosier (foot) are also out.
• Former Denver Broncos running back Travis Henry is scheduled to enter a plea Oct. 30 in U.S. District Court in Billings, Mont., on cocaine trafficking charges.
• The St. Louis Rams promoted receiver Derek Stanley from the practice squad Friday, while receiver Dane Looker said additional tests on his brain after a spot was found have not yet revealed answers.
• Cincinnati coach Marvin Lewis says quarterback Carson Palmer (elbow) will not start against the Jets.
