Chris Henry returns after a four-game suspension for violating the NFL's conduct policy.
CINCINNATI — Receiver Chris Henry was activated Saturday by the Cincinnati Bengals, setting up a possible matchup with Cowboys cornerback Adam "Pacman" Jones, a former college teammate who has been in even more trouble.
The Bengals released running back Kenny Watson to open a roster spot for Henry. Watson sat out a 20-12 loss to the Cleveland Browns on Sunday with a hamstring injury suffered during practice the previous week.
Henry was released by the Bengals (0-4) following his fifth arrest in the offseason. Owner Mike Brown took him back over the objections of coach Marvin Lewis, who had no interest in the troubled receiver.
Henry missed the first four games of the season because of his latest suspension for violating the NFL's conduct policy. Henry also was suspended for the first eight games last season.
Cardinals receiver Boldin has surgery
TEMPE, Ariz. — The Arizona Cardinals' Anquan Boldin is out indefinitely following surgery on a facial bone fractured in a helmet-to-helmet hit during last Sunday's game against the New York Jets.
Coach Ken Whisenhunt said the surgeon who operated on the wide receiver's fractured sinus on Thursday night told him that a hockey player who underwent a similar procedure was playing 10 days later.
"And that's a violent sport, too," Whisenhunt said Friday. "The doctor felt like it would give him the quickest chance to get back."
Boldin was ruled out of today's home game against the Buffalo Bills.
The NFL suspended Jets safety Eric Smith for one game and fined him $50,000 for the hit. Second-year pro Steve Breaston, who caught nine passes for 122 yards last Sunday, is starting in Boldin's place.
Note
• Bills starting cornerback Terrence McGee won't play today against the Arizona Cardinals because of a sprained left knee. McGee, originally listed as doubtful on Friday, didn't make the trip to Arizona on Saturday. He was hurt in the first quarter of the Bills' win over St. Louis last Sunday, and missed all three practices this week.
Rookie first-round pick Leodis McKelvin and nickelback Ashton Youboty will split time opposite starting cornerback Jabari Greer. McKelvin also will handle kickoff returns in place of McGee.
