What's the toughest job you've ever had? In high school, I was working with my dad, pouring concrete. It's heavy, hot and it draws heat to you. I'm from Louisiana and it's already 100-plus degrees down there.
Who was the first poster up on your wall? Back in the day it was Russell Maryland. I used to keep up with him, a big defensive tackle.
What's the CD you own that would surprise people to learn? I'm a Michael Jackson fan.
Have you ever had a manicure? Yes.
— Danny O'Neil
Offensive player of the day: Wide receiver Jordan Kent caught the first touchdown pass in Friday's exhibition game, and he had a trio of nice grabs in Sunday's morning practice.
Defensive rebound: Kelly Jennings played catch-up with Kent, making up ground to make a one-handed deflection of a deep pass from Seneca Wallace.
Special scouting: The Seahawks allowed a 53-yard kickoff return and a 24-yard punt return in Friday's exhibition game against Minnesota. Don't read too much into that because special-teams coach Bruce DeHaven is looking to find young players who are candidates to play on special teams instead of rolling out the more veteran-laden units he'll use in the regular season. So in some ways, DeHaven saw Friday's exhibition game as a success. "I found some guys that wanted to go down in there and hit somebody," DeHaven said. "That's what I'm looking for in the exhibition season."
Tru lies: Marcus Trufant may have missed a tackle that allowed Bobby Wade to gain 28 yards in the second quarter and was penalized for pass interference in the second quarter, but Trufant was not responsible for Bernard Berrian for a 19-yard gain on third down in the first quarter. Trufant made the tackle, but the Seahawks were in a Cover 2 defense at the time, and it wasn't Trufant's coverage that Berrian beat.
Kick it: Punter Ryan Plackemeier practiced for the first time this season after missing two weeks recovering from surgery to repair a torn pectoral muscle. He was on the physically unable to perform list and not allowed to practice, but his rehabilitation work included kicking so he's not starting from scratch in his competition with Reggie Hodges. "How well he'll punt, I don't know," said DeHaven. "But in terms of physically being able to punt, I think he's in pretty good shape."
