Worst car you've ever driven? A 1987 Astro minivan with 210,000 miles on it. It was great. It was my first car. I loved it.

Four things you have to have with you to get through camp? Bible, a phone, my iPod and good teammates.

Toughest job you ever had? I was a janitor on the University of Illinois campus, cleaning frat houses and stuff like that. Sort of a summer job. It was terrible.

Who was your favorite player as a kid? Reggie White, because his name was Reggie. He's a man of God, and he was a naturally phenomenal football player.

The big story: Morning practice took place at the sprawling Virginia Mason Athletic Center. The Seahawks will move to the Renton facility for good on Aug. 18.

Tough luck: Cornerback Derrick Johnson, a former University of Washington player, was hurt on his first day of practice with the team and ended up watching from the sideline. Johnson appeared to injure his left foot about midway through practice, and eventually limped back to the locker room. The Seahawks added Johnson when they placed linebacker Wesly Mallard on injured reserve with a knee injury. Defensive end Baraka Atkins was injured during a goal-line drill and had to step away from the action to receive trainers' help, but came back for afternoon practice. And 16 other players didn't practice because of injury, meaning they aren't expected to play in Friday's exhibition game at Minnesota.

Bump's back: Michael Bumpus, the former Washington State receiver who has made some impressive plays in camp, was back after missing Tuesday with a tight hamstring, as was tight end Will Heller.

Hold up a minute: Coach Mike Holmgren stopped morning practice after goal-line drills and delivered a stern message to players about knowing their assignments. When asked about the lecture afterward, he said players are a bit tired from hitting each other and there was a lull in the intensity of practice. "It's my job to wake them a little bit, that's all," Holmgren said.

Hats on: Most of the players wore camouflage Seahawks ball caps for afternoon practice, the same cap first worn in public by Matt Hasselbeck. "These are popular hats in the locker room," the quarterback said.
