Seahawks Camp | Day 3 highlighs

Four downs with ...

Logan Payne, WR

Height: 6-2. Weight: 205. Experience: Second year.

College: Minnesota. Hometown: Lutz, Fla. Born: Jan. 21, 1985.

What is the toughest job you've ever had? When I was in high school, I worked for a family friend and I had to scrub boats all day. It was awful. I made, like, $5 an hour. There was the algae and most were off the lake, so there's tons of stuff. And you've got to clean it all because they're showing the boats, trying to sell them.

Ever had a manicure? No.

How about your worst car? I had a 1989 Jeep Wrangler. I don't think it got over 60 mph. It was sweet, though. No doors, no top, so it rained on me as I'm driving. No radio. The flooring just had holes so all the water could drain out. It was cool, though. I thought I was sweet.

What did you bring to pass the time here in the dorms at training camp? I brought clothes, my deodorant, my cologne and my tooth brush. My computer, and that's about it.

Danny O'Neil

OFFENSIVE PLAY OF THE DAY: Flanker Logan Payne showed some sticky hands and a scrappy attitude, leaping to catch a pass that cornerback Marcus Trufant attempted to bat away during the morning practice. Payne crashed to the ground after making the catch, then held onto the ball as safety Brian Russell tried to knock it away.

DEFENSIVE PLAY OF THE DAY: Safety Jamar Adams made the most of the team's first padded practice of camp. He collided with rookie tight end John Carlson over the middle during a passing drill in the morning workout, his hit jarring the ball loose. Adams is an undrafted rookie free agent from Michigan with good size (6 feet 2).

NIGHT, NIGHT: Strong safety Deon Grant's discretion prevented Carlson's head from being detached from his shoulders. Carlson dove to catch a pass behind linebacker D.D. Lewis. It was a great effort, but the quarterback's throw led Carlson right toward Grant, who had Carlson lined up and was ready to lower the boom. Grant wasn't going to flatten a teammate, though. Grant pulled up and didn't make contact.

ODDS AND ENDS: Second-year cornerback Josh Wilson looked great. He broke up three different passes, showing some playmaking instincts to make up for his lack of size. ... Punter Reggie Hodges boomed multiple 50-yard punts in the morning. He is the only punter currently practicing, with Ryan Plackemeier recovering from pectoral surgery and on the physically-unable-to-perform list. ... Steve Vallos started at center with the first unit as neither Chris Spencer nor Chris Gray practiced. Spencer is recovering from offseason shoulder surgery and Gray tweaked his back on Saturday.
