Wide receiver Chad Johnson wants out of Cincinnati as soon as possible, ESPN.com reported Wednesday.
What spurred Johnson's immediate reaction, the Web site reported, was a statement made by Bengals quarterback Carson Palmer that indicated Johnson had told Palmer he would be at the team's mandatory minicamp in mid-June. Johnson said that wasn't true.
"I want to make this very clear," Johnson told ESPN.com. "I don't know where he got that. I made no assertion to Carson that I would do that. Nothing has changed from what I've been saying for three months that I don't want to play for the Bengals."
Johnson told ESPN.com that he is not planning on reporting to any team functions, mandatory or voluntary, because he wants to be traded.
"I want to be traded before the draft, and if that doesn't happen, I want to be traded as soon as possible," he said. "I don't intend on reporting to anything."
ESPN.com reported that the Bengals had no comment in response to Johnson's statements. Coach Marvin Lewis previously has stated the team had no intention of trading Johnson.
No news on Pacman
DALLAS — Jerry Jones and Roger Goodell sat side-by-side at lunch Wednesday, and it's easy to guess who did most of the talking.
It might be just as easy to guess what they were talking about.
The status of Adam "Pacman" Jones is of major interest to the Cowboys because they are trying to acquire the suspended cornerback-kick returner from the Tennessee Titans. Trade talks have stalled, likely because of uncertainty about when he will be reinstated by Goodell, the NFL commissioner.
Goodell said he's "encouraged, to some extent" by the things Jones has done and said lately.
"If he continues to conduct himself in a way that I think represents the NFL positively, I will consider reinstating him before the season," Goodell said at the SMU Athletic Forum. "Whether he is going to be traded or not doesn't impact on my decision, on that basis. His representatives know that."

Jerry Jones said negotiations with Tennessee are "kind of dormant."
Notes
• Edward P. Roski Jr., a part owner of the NHL's Kings and NBA's Lakers, today will unveil his idea for a stadium in the City of Industry that he believes will lure an NFL team back to Los Angeles.
• QB J.P. Losman doesn't appear to be going anywhere despite his request that Buffalo trade him.
"J.P.'s on this roster, and he's a part of this organization. And we anticipate J.P.'s going to be on this team," Bills COO Russ Brandon said.
Losman has one year left on his contract but wants out of Buffalo after losing the starting quarterback job to rookie third-round pick Trent Edwards last season.
• WR Nate Washington, a restricted free agent, accepted his tender offer from Pittsburgh and will make $1,417,000 this season.
• Kansas City signed FB John Paul Foschi to a two-year deal.
• Philadelphia signed P-K Richmond McGee to a three-year contract. McGee will compete with Sav Rocca for a job as the Eagles' punter. K David Akers has handled kickoffs.
• Jacksonville released S Lamont Thompson, who signed with the team last November and was expected to be in the mix for a starting spot after Jacksonville opted not to retain veteran Sammy Knight.
