Tennessee Titans cornerback Adam "Pacman" Jones said on the Michael Irvin radio show Tuesday that he will not apply for reinstatement to the league until a trade is completed.
It was believed Jones, who has been suspended since last April for violations of the league's conduct policy, would apply for reinstatement Tuesday.
"I'm hoping it will be done this week, but that's just agent talk," Jones said on Irvin's show on KESN-FM in Arlington, Texas, of reports his agents believe a deal can be completed.
"We'll see how it goes and I'll be tuning in, and I'm going back to my house and get in front of the TV and hope it will get done today."
The Cowboys originally offered the Titans a late-round 2008 draft pick for Jones. But, according to a source, Dallas is willing to give up a pick between the fifth and seventh rounds. The teams remain in discussions regarding a draft pick in 2009.
"I just can't wait and, hopefully, it can get done," the 24-year-old Jones said. "I'm anxiously waiting. I've been working out three days a week, and I've slowed it down a little bit to give my body a rest, so I can make sure I'm not too wore out when camp and the season starts."
Commissioner Roger Goodell rejected appeals to let Jones take part in training camp or return after 10 games last season.
The suspension does not prevent the Titans from trading Jones' contract.
Chargers LB Cooper is suspended
SAN DIEGO — Inside linebacker Stephen Cooper of the San Diego Chargers was suspended for four games for testing positive for a banned stimulant.
Cooper, who led the Chargers with 109 tackles last season according to team stats, said in a statement that he took a stimulant that was recently added to the list of prohibited substances.
"I regret that I mistakenly took a stimulant that I did not realize at the time was banned by the NFL," the 28-year-old Cooper said.

While in college at Maine, Cooper admitted to possession of steroids after being found with about 1,000 pills in a duffel bag when the driver of a sport-utility vehicle he was riding in was stopped for alleged speeding in 2002.
Cooper pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor drug charge, but said he didn't take the steroids.
Note
• The Denver Broncos signed receiver Samie Parker, 27, previously with Kansas City, to a one-year contract.
The Broncos also signed punter Danny Baugher, 24. They waived wide receiver Derrick Hamilton, 26, and tight end Chad Upshaw, 23.
