TEMPE, Ariz. — Defensive end Travis LaBoy has signed a five-year contract with the Arizona Cardinals, team officials said Tuesday.

LaBoy's deal reportedly is worth $22 million, with $7.5 million guaranteed.

The 6-foot-3, 260-pound LaBoy played four seasons with Tennessee after being drafted in the second round by the Titans — the 42nd pick overall — out of Hawaii in 2004. He is expected to compete with Bertrand Berry for the starting job.

In a reserve role last season, the 26-year-old LaBoy played 13 games and had six sacks.

The Cardinals also signed tight end Jerame Tuman, 31, to a two-year contract. He appeared in six games for the Pittsburgh Steelers last season and was released Feb. 8.

Report: receiver Walker to Raiders

Receiver Javon Walker, who was released last week by the Denver Broncos, has agreed to a six-year, $55 million contract with the Oakland Raiders, ESPN.com reported.

According to ESPN.com, Walker's guaranteed money exceeds $16 million. Walker, 29, has 30 touchdown receptions in six pro seasons.

Notes

• Defensive lineman Warren Sapp's pro career officially ended when his retirement was posted on the Oakland Raiders' Web site. Sapp said immediately after last season that he was through playing, but did not file the paperwork.

In January, the 35-year-old Sapp posted a two-word message on his Web site: "I'M DONE!"

Sapp made seven Pro Bowls, won the 1999 Associated Press Defensive Player of the Year award and led Tampa Bay's dominant defense that helped win the Super Bowl after the 2002 season.

• One day after re-signing standout receiver Randy Moss, the New England Patriots addressed their need at cornerback. With corners Asante Samuel and Randall Gay gone as free agents, New England signed Jason Webster.

Webster, 30, has 11 interceptions in 87 career games. He played in one game last season for Buffalo before injuring his arm.

• Denver re-signed defensive end John Engelberger, 31, who led the team's linemen in tackles last season with 59. The Broncos also re-signed tight end Nate Jackson, 28.

• Chicago will reunite with receiver Marty Booker, 31, who was with Miami for four seasons after playing for Chicago from 1999 to 2003.

Buddy Dial, a standout receiver for the Pittsburgh Steelers who also played for the Dallas Cowboys, died Friday in Houston. He was 71. He had been hospitalized recently for treatment of cancer and pneumonia.
