Running back T.J. Duckett came to Seattle on Monday.
The question now is whether he will be staying with the Seahawks for next season.
Duckett, 27, visited the Seahawks last season as a free agent, but the Michigan native opted to sign with Detroit.
Duckett, a former first-round draft pick from Michigan State, played in 12 games for the Lions last season and was most productive in the final month of the season. He gained 201 of his 335 rushing yards in the final four games. He rushed for 102 yards against Kansas City, his most in any game since September 2003.
Duckett's weight is listed as 254 pounds, and that bulk could be a boost to Seattle in short-yardage rushing situations, which have been a shortcoming the past two seasons.
Coach Mike Holmgren said after the season that improving the running game will be a primary emphasis and will include everything from scheme to evaluating personnel. Seattle signed guard Mike Wahle after he was released by Carolina and changed offensive-line coaches, bringing Mike Solari aboard the staff.
The Seahawks have running backs Shaun Alexander and Maurice Morris under contract for next season. Fullback Leonard Weaver is a restricted free agent.
Niko to Denver
Linebacker Niko Koutouvides agreed to terms with Denver. He played with the Seahawks the past four seasons and was an unrestricted free agent. Backup linebacker Kevin Bentley left the Seahawks to play for Houston.
With Lofa Tatupu, Julian Peterson and Leroy Hill, Seattle has one of the best linebacker trios in the league, but will look to add depth at that position. Seattle is expected to host linebacker Nick Greisen this week. Greisen is a free agent from Baltimore.
