Warren Moon hearing moved to April
Times Eastside Bureau
A sentence-review hearing for Warren Moon, a Hall of Fame quarterback who is part of the Seahawks game-day broadcast team, was continued to April 14 at a brief session in a Redmond courtroom Thursday.
The hearing had been ordered to conduct a review of a negligent-driving sentence imposed on Moon in August. The new hearing was ordered because among the conditions of that August sentence was that Moon have no further law violations and that he submit to a blood-alcohol test if stopped by a law-enforcement officer with reasonable grounds to believe he was under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
The question of Moon's compliance arose because he was arrested by Medina police Dec. 28 on Highway 520 and was charged with driving under the influence. According to the charges, Moon declined to take a field sobriety test or a Breathalyzer test later offered at the Kirkland Police Department.
