Seahawks hire offensive line coach

Former Kansas City Chiefs offensive coordinator Mike Solari has been hired to coach the Seahawks' offensive line, the team announced today.

Seattle Times staff reporter

Former Kansas City Chiefs offensive coordinator Mike Solari has been hired to coach the Seahawks' offensive line, the team announced today.

Solari was fired by the Chiefs after the 2007 season. He spent two seasons as offensive coordinator and nine as Kansas City's offensive line coach before being dismissed following a 4-12 season.

The Seahawks hope to address their struggles running the ball by adding Solari. With him on staff, Kansas City's rushing offense finished in the top 10 in the NFL five of the past seven seasons.

Solari replaces Bill Laveroni, who was Seattle's offensive line coach from 2004 until his dismissal after this past season.
