Play of the Game
Seattle QB Matt Hasselbeck raised a fist before D.J. Hackett reached the end zone on a 20-yard TD catch in the fourth quarter. The Seahawks trailed by one, lined up in a four-receiver set and caught Washington in man-to-man coverage. Hackett ran an out-and-up route and was all alone. "That's as big a throw as we've had all year," offensive coordinator Gil Haskell said.
Turning Point
On Washington's first play after Hackett's TD, QB Todd Collins tried to throw deep to Santana Moss. Collins ran into DT Rocky Bernard as he threw it, the collision preventing him from really stepping into the pass. The result was a pass that looked more like a punt, one that CB Marcus Trufant settled under while Moss had no clue. Trufant returned the interception 78 yards for a TD with help from a crushing block from DT Brandon Mebane and DE Patrick Kerney, who kept one Washington player pinned to the ground.
Sunday's Seahawks Surprises
• Seattle rushed for 39 yards in the first quarter and gained 38 on the ground the rest of the game.
• Leonard Weaver had Seattle's longest run — the second longest of his career — when he went 17 yards for a TD in the first quarter.
• The Seahawks won despite being outgained 319 yards to 304.
