New England's win over the New York Giants on Saturday, which completed an undefeated regular season for the Patriots, was the most-watched program since the television season began in September.
The Patriots' 38-35 victory was watched by an average of 34.5 million viewers on CBS, NBC and the NFL Network, according to the league and Nielsen Media Research. It was the most-watched NFL regular-season game since the Thanksgiving holiday in 1995, when Kansas City and Dallas drew 35.7 million viewers.
Saturday's game was the seventh most-viewed program on television in 2007, behind the NFL's Super Bowl and conference championship games, the Academy Awards, and two episodes of "American Idol."
The Patriots featured in the four highest-rated NFL games this season.
It was the first three-network simulcast in league history and the first time since the league's initial Super Bowl in 1967 that more than one network has televised a contest.
