Camp Kirkland ends: Training camp ended with a pair of two-minute drills in which the defense kept both the No. 1 and No. 2 offenses from scoring at the conclusion of practice. Practice starts up again next week at team headquarters on the regular-season schedule, which is one big practice a day instead of camp's two-a-days.

The top 10 players:

1. DE Darryl Tapp. Has apparently wrested the starting right defensive-end job away from Bryce Fisher.

2. WR Ben Obomanu. Great first exhibition game, and caught the ball well in practices.

3. FS Brian Russell. Made a number of good plays on the ball, but also took charge of the secondary in first camp with new team.

4. CB Marcus Trufant. Another good camp; now he has to carry it into the season.

5. P Ryan Plackemeier. The Seahawks cut the only other punter they had on the roster long before camp ended.

6. WR Nate Burleson. Showed good hands and good route running and looks ready to contribute more.

7. LG Rob Sims. The offensive line is a big concern, but Sims held his own day in and day out.

8. K Josh Brown. Maintained consistent accuracy on field goals.

9. DT Brandon Mebane. The top rookie in camp looks like he'll have a good future.

10. TE Marcus Pollard. Didn't drop a pass in team drills and showed he can block effectively.

Holmgren's take: "I was concerned about having camp here [instead of Cheney]," coach Mike Holmgren said. "I like the idea of going away somewhere to camp, that appeals to me. But I will say this: The players upheld their end of the bargain beautifully."

Asked about the three-year extension backup QB Seneca Wallace signed this week, he said, "The one thing he said to me was just last year [when Wallace signed a one-year extension]. He chose to stay and he said, 'As long as you're here, I'm here.' When a player tells you that, and he was sincere about it, that's a good thing."

Next: The Seahawks host the Vikings at 6 p.m. Saturday. Holmgren said he'd like to see his starters play at least a half. DT Marcus Tubbs, back from knee surgery, will get 10 to 15 plays, and QB Matt Hasselbeck will play at least most of the first half, Holmgren said.

Roster moves: The team will probably keep six linebackers on the final 53-man roster, Holmgren said. The first roster cuts, from the current 87 to 75 players, are due Tuesday.

Personnel update: As camp came to an end, the five Seahawks who missed practice were LB Julian Peterson, QB Erik Meyer, DB Jordan Babineaux, LT Walter Jones and TE Leonard Stephens. None are expected to play Saturday. TE Will Heller returned from injury to practice.
