Top offensive play: There were two, in succession, during a team drill in the morning practice. Quarterback Matt Hasselbeck zinged a pass to WR D.J. Hackett, who ran a good route and turned just in time to make a difficult catch with tight coverage from CB Kelly Jennings. On the next play, Hasselbeck threw a pinpoint slant pass to WR Bobby Engram despite solid coverage from cornerback Marcus Trufant.

Top defensive play: Trufant made a one-handed interception. Also, defensive end Darryl Tapp drew some appreciative yells when the No. 2 units worked against each other. On one play, Tapp got around tackle Jon Alston for a would-be sack on quarterback Seneca Wallace.

Then he popped up and took a bow. "There was a lull in practice," Hasselbeck said. "It was a little cheesy, but ... "

The day's big development: The team held the morning practice at Husky Stadium in front of an estimated 2,000 fans. Notable attendees included Washington football coach Tyrone Willingham and women's basketball coach Tia Jackson.
