Seahawks kicker Josh Brown has signed his one-year franchise tender, the team announced today, and is expected to report to the team's mandatory mini-camp this weekend.
Brown, a fifth-year kicker who has made six game-winning field goals the past two seasons, will make $2.078 million in 2007. That's almost three times his 2006 salary.
Brown was named the Seahawks' franchise player and given the franchise tag in February, effectively assuring he'd be a Seahawk for at least another season. He was set to become an unrestricted free agent.
The next step for the team is to work out a long-term contract with Brown.
